ताड़केश्वर मंदिर का इतिहास

खूबसूरत पेड़ के बीच बसा ताड़केश्वर मंदिर वहां जाकर ऐसा एहसास होता है पेड़ों के नीचे से बहता हुआ पानी यह भगवान शिव जी का मंदिर प्राकृतिक सुंदरता इस मंदिर की है चारों तरफ बहते हुए जल में इस मंदिर को और भी आकर्षित पर आते हैं कहां जाता है इस मंदिर से जो मन्नत मांगी जाती है भगवान उसे पूरा करते हैं बताया जाता है ताड़कासुर नामक दानव जिसने भगवान शिवजी से अमरता का वरदान पाने के लिए इस स्थान पर तपस्या करी भगवान शिव जी ने ताड़कासुर की इस विशाल तपस्या को देख कर उसे अमरता का वरदान दे दिया कुछ समय बाद तारकासुर वरदान का गलत इस्तेमाल करने लगता है संतो को मारने लगता है                                                             

                                             अमरता का वरदान पाकर भी तारकासुर हार गया

वातावरण को मुसीबत में देखते हुए सभी संत भगवान शिव से मदद मांगने का अनुरोध किया तारकासुर से युद्ध करने के लिए भगवान शिव ने मां पार्वती से शादी की अपने बेटे कार्तिक को जन्म दिया जैसे ही कार्तिक के हाथों ताड़केश्वर मारे गए थे तभी तारकासुर भगवान शिव से प्रार्थना करके क्षमा मांगने लगे तब भगवान शिव ने उन्हें माफ करते हुए कहा की कलयुग में लोग तुम्हें भगवन शिव के नाम से ही पूजेंगे आज भी वहां भगवान शिव की पूजा तारकासुर के नाम से ही होती है इसीलिए इस स्थान का नाम तारकेश्वर पड़ा  कुछ देर तक पुजारी ने हमें यह कहानी बता और उसके बाद हम अपनी बसों की तरफ चल दिए.   

                                                             गढ़वाल राइफल

1 घंटे बाद हम लैन्सडान पहुंचे सबसे पहले हम गढ़वाल राइफल का जो प्रमुख द्वार हैं वहां पहुंचे गढ़वाल राइफल द्वार से कुछ ही दूर आगे आर्मी कैंटीन थी कुछ दूर आगे जसवंत सिंह द्वार है गढ़वाल राइफल भारतीय सेना की एक प्रशिद्ध युद्ध शाखा है आजादी के बाद लड़े गए विश्व युद्धों के दौरान इस राइफल ने अपनी एक अलग मिशाल कायम की है गढ़वाल की इस सेना ने कारगिल युद्ध के दौरान बड़ी वीरता से लड़ाई लड़ी गढ़वाल का हर युवा जो भारतीय सेना में जाने को तैयार है आज इस रेजिमेंट के 250000 से अधिक सैनिक मातृभूमि की सुरक्षा में तैनात है उत्तराखंड वह राज्य  के युवाओ के अंदर मातृभूमि की रक्षा करने जूनून है इस सेना ने बहुत सी लड़ाईया लड़ी है उनमे से ही एक है 1971 का भारत पाकिस्तान का युद्ध गढ़वाल मेजर जनरल पी.सी. के तहत 6 वें माउंटेन डिवीजन के साथ पूर्वी थिएटर में थे। रेड्डी। 2nd गढ़वाल राइफल्स 2nd माउंटेन डिवीजन के साथ था और ढाका में ही 101 कॉमन जेड के लिए आवंटित किया गया था 12 वीं बटालियन सहायता के लिए बंगाल क्षेत्र में थी 5 वी गढ़वाल राइफल को पहाड़ी की लड़ाई का जिम्मा सौंपा गया तीसरे चरण में 5 गढ़वाल राइफल्स को बासुदेवपुर, हकीमपुर और रंगापारा के कई छोटे गांवों पर कब्जा करने का बहुत मुश्किल काम दिया गया था। प्रत्येक हमले को अलग से आयोजित किया जाना था, जिसमें पर्याप्त मोर्टार और तोपखाने की आग थी इस लड़ाई में  भी गढ़वाल राइफल ने विजय प्राप्त की गढ़वाल राइफल का लोहा आज पूरी दुनिया मानती है
